  • Country of Origin: western Cuba (endemic)
  • Habitat: montane forests at 85–250 m

  • Description: The sole species in the genus Microcycas, this plant is estimated to only consist of around 600 individuals in the wild and is found only in the Pinar del Rio province of western Cuba.
  • Uses: Locals have used the plant's toxic roots as a rat poison.6
  • Culture: Succulent mix
