  • Description: Amazing and handsome large shrub from China, Korea, and Japan with red petioles bearing long, dark green leaves, to 6-10" long x 1-3" wide, arranged like whorls on the branch ends, the new growth emerging above, pale and flushed with pink. Flowers are inconspicuous.2

    Plants are dioecious (separate male and female individuals); our plant is female.

  • Culture: This multi-stemmed shrub can reach 12-15 ft tall and wide - possibly taller, growing slowly until well established in bright shade to shade, where soil is rich and water is regular. Frost hardy to 0F, USDA zone 7.2
